Lone Survivor Character Analysis
Marcus Luttrell made the decision to become one of the most prestigious soldiers our nation has to offer. The decision to become a Navy SEAL was one he made at a young age. His most important character trait was his willingness to sacrifice. To become a Navy SEAL he was willing to sacrifice his life for his country. He was willing sacrifice himself for his fellow soldiers. During his fight alongside his fellow SEALs, Marcus was willing to sacrifice everything for his brothers in arms. He risk his life to keep his team covered and also risked his life to make sure no one got left behind. Even while under fire, he dragged his fellow soldier to cover in order to save his life. This trait affects the story by showing the brotherhood and the sacrifices that these men were willing to make for one another. This trait causes the men in the story to have a closer brotherhood with each other and be willing to put their life in one another’s hands. However, this does also give the story a heart breaking affect. When Marcus witnesses his team die in front of him, it gives an extremely sad and depressing mood to the story. The amount of sacrifice that Marcus Luttrell gave on that mountain is his best trait. His willingness to die in order to make sure his team makes it back home is what he should always be remembered for.
